Sets in this bundle
- The Rain Mountain (5-ESS2-1, Earth's Spheres Interact). On the small island of Kauaʻi, one mountain is one of the rainiest places on Earth. Less than 20 miles away, the coast is almost a desert. Same island, same ocean. Why is one side so wet and the other so dry?
- The Thirsty City by the Sea (5-ESS2-2, Earth's Water: Salt vs. Fresh). In 2018, Cape Town, a big city right next to the ocean, almost ran out of water. How can a city by the sea nearly run dry?
- The Cave That Stank (5-ESS3-1, Protecting Earth's Resources). Under the town of Horse Cave, Kentucky, a river flows through a cave. For 50 years the cave smelled so bad that it was closed. Today, tours are back and cave animals live there again. How did a town clean up a river it couldn’t even see?
